When YouTube
doesn't confirm.
The extension reports what it can verify. An unconfirmed result is different from a successful account update.
The menu item is missing
Check that the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions and has site access to https://www.youtube.com. Reload the YouTube page after installing or updating it.
Use a video thumbnail's three-dot menu. The account menu, player settings, and comment menus do not receive this item. YouTube Music, mobile YouTube, and embedded players are outside the extension's scope.
YouTube says I am signed out
Sign in on YouTube in the same Chrome profile and reload the page. If you use several YouTube accounts, switch to the account whose history you want to update before clicking.
Watch history is paused
Enable watch history in YouTube if you want new records saved. The extension never changes that setting for you.
The video is in history, but progress is not complete
YouTube accepted enough information to show the video but did not return a 100% progress value. Wait, reload YouTube, and check again. You can retry the menu action if the full bar is still missing.
The request failed
Check your connection and whether a browser extension is blocking YouTube playback-tracking requests. Do not change security settings or share session cookies to diagnose this issue.
A live or unavailable video was rejected
A completed progress value requires a playable video with a finite duration. An active live stream or unavailable video cannot meet that requirement.
It worked before an update to YouTube
The extension uses YouTube's private player endpoints and page structure. YouTube can change or reject these requests. A future extension update may be required.
Never send cookies, signed tracking URLs, authorization headers, or raw account-page responses in a support report.
