YouTube REALLY Mark As Watched is an independent Chrome extension. It processes the data needed to mark a selected video as watched in your YouTube account and verify complete progress.
Data the extension processes
When you choose Mark as watched, the extension reads the selected video's ID, duration, playback availability, and YouTube-provided playback-tracking URLs. It downloads YouTube watch-page and history-page data to check the result. Those responses can include video titles, thumbnail metadata, history entries, progress, and account or session metadata.
The extension reads YouTube's signed-in status and client configuration on the current page. It processes session-bound tracking URLs in memory. It does not read your password or extract cookie values.
How the data is used
The extension sends playback and completed-progress reports for the video you selected. It reads your recent YouTube history before and after the operation to check whether that exact video has complete progress. No video is marked automatically.
Your browser includes its existing YouTube session cookies in authenticated requests directly to YouTube. The extension does not send those cookies or account data to its developer.
Recipients and transmission
Extension requests go only to https://www.youtube.com. The developer does not receive your viewing history, account data, or playback reports. There are no extension analytics, advertising requests, tracking pixels, data sales, or developer-operated collection servers.
YouTube receives the playback and progress reports and handles the resulting account history under Google's own policies. Read Google's Privacy Policy for that separate processing.
Storage and retention
The extension processes data in the page's memory for the operation. It keeps no persistent watched-video database and does not use Chrome storage, browser-history access, or cookie-reading permissions. Temporary operation state is discarded when it is no longer needed or the page closes.
YouTube stores the history you choose to update. Uninstalling this extension does not remove those records. To remove them, use YouTube's watch-history controls.
Permissions and code
The extension runs only on desktop https://www.youtube.com pages. It has no access to other websites through its content-script declaration. All executable extension code is packaged locally. Downloaded YouTube responses are parsed as data, not executed as code.
This website
This website has no analytics scripts, advertising, account system, or contact form. It does not intentionally set analytics or advertising cookies. The hosting provider may process IP addresses, request paths, timestamps, and other technical request information to deliver and secure the site. These website requests are separate from your YouTube account and watch history.
Limited use
The extension uses data only for its disclosed purpose of updating and verifying the selected video's YouTube watch history. Data is not sold, used for advertising, or transferred for unrelated purposes.
